Welcome! What Is Prepress Helper All About?

Prepress Helper is a place where graphic designers can pick up some solid tips to help with their daily work and print job preparation. You could also hear some off-topic things, rants or musings. If you’re a Mac user, you might occasionally find a useful OS X goody that I run across or create—things that might make your job a little easier or more fun.

The Prepress Helper blog is published by me, Mike Davis, founder of Colorprep. I’m not a designer myself, but enjoy working with small network of quality-conscious graphic designers, making sure their digital images always look great on press.

Yes, welcome to this new Prepress Helper blog. I set things up using the great FlatPress blogging system and made my teenage daughter come in with her cute little blue camera and snap my picture for the masthead. FlatPress was really simple to set up, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to easily add a blog right into their web site. Yes, I couldn’t believe it is free.

I’d like to use this blog to share things that I learn and pick up day to day; I’ve got no affiliation with providers of any of the products or services mentioned. This is a first attempt at blogging and I’d love to have people comment or ask questions; anything to get the ball rolling. If you have any ideas, observations, questions, requests or anything else that you’d like to share with me directly, click on the CONTACT menu item and I’ll be glad to help if I can. All feedback is welcomed.

If you like, you can do it the way I like to do and keep informed of new posts here by clicking on one of the orange RSS news feeder icons on the right. You can either have new things come to you daily in your news reader (I like to use Google Reader) or get email digests.

Thanks for stopping by!
